Stock on the AK Wood Kit

I bought a wood kit a couple of weeks ago that kinda sucked, and I need a bit of help installing the buttplate on the stock.

The wood kit came with no buttplate, or holes, so I had to drill my own holes and make my own plate (I just broke my old buttplate and tried to put it on with screws).

So far I only got one screw in

Here's what the butt of the stock looks like. I'm not sure if any other guys with wood kits have the same looking hole but here it is:

Here's what I'm using as the plate:

And here's what the plate looks like in comparison to the stock:

As you can see, the top screw doesn't seem to fit anywhere while the bottom one is rested down there. The hole you see in the stock is one that I drilled. I broke off a piece of the old plate and stuck it in there and the screw goes in there nicely.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about with the second screw? I was thinking of drilling a hole at the top of the stock and plate but that might cause it to crack...

If the first screw keeps the plate tight enough than you can just somehow put the second screw in the hole and hold it there with something on the inside. That would make it LOOK normal but it wont work if you need that second screw to keep the butt plate tight.

Try a C-clip on the inside of the butt plate to hold the second screw in place. should hold it in just fine, and you'll be able to tighten it up so it won't come loose.

I second the single screw suggestion, if it's snug then you shouldnt have an issue.

To me it looks like that metal plate will never fit, if it were me I'd be making a whole new butt-plate out of wood, using a T-nut to secure it.
