Screwing off ECHO-1 G36c's flashhider
I finally got a silencer (courtesy of BBS) and when I tried to unscew my flashhider, the damn thing is screwed on tighter than a 13 year old. Yes, I removed the pins/screws/locks that are attached to it (There is only one screw) and I have referred to the manual.
Has anyone else faced this problem and got around it? Will brute force by means of unscrewing with a wrench damage the gun? I'm willing to take any kind of suggestions as of this point in time. |

According to the manual (with a shitload of "Chingrish") the diagram and wording tells me to turn it counterclockwise (when looking behind the barrel).
The flashhider is all metal, but I still don't want to damage it too badly or risk snapping off my inner barrel. |

Good news: I figured out how to remove the flash hider with some tools i had at home.
Bad news: I fucking snapped the plastic covering around the inner barrel, looks fixable with super glue but fucking GODDAMNIT. Now I might have another 'doctor' question, but until then I'm gonna try and get pictures up and see if its replaceable. |

Yeah screw it the other way (the hinder), it was tight (the hinder) when i had to remove it to paint it black. I think it was 1.5mm allen key i used at first. Also if super glue is no good try a plastic epoxy from crappy tire or JB weld.
btw hansen says hello!

argh, I dunno now I'm just scared and pissed off.
According to the "G36c Detail list" for the ECHO-1 G36c, I pretty much snapped off the front end of the G-13 part. Bah, time to bug schwag for a replacement part. |

take a pic of the part that you snapped. I bet it can be glued as long as it is not threaded. I have the same gun.

I don't have a higher quality camera with me right now, but tonight I'll post some high resolution pictures of the damage.
In short I broke off 3 pieces, two of them being plastic on plastic (considering your suggestion of epoxy or JB weld) and the other one (the piece that screws onto the flash hider or silencer) is metal on metal. I'm not too concerned with the plastic parts, because they're not responsible for holding the inner barrel stable, but the metal one is a huge issue. Here are the pictures: http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5...ture065pu1.jpg The inner barrel is exposed immediately when I remove the hand guard. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/1...ture066qs1.jpg The part that connects to the silencer and etc. (Notice how the broken plastic supports are still screwed into it) http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/3...ture067ga7.jpg Same as before see that silverish line on the metal part? thats where it snapped off. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/7...ture068fe7.jpg To put things into perspective, I can freely move this piece up and down the inner barrel http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/8...ture069lw2.jpg I slid the broken piece down *** EDIT *** This will give you a much better idea of what I'm dealing with: Original blueprints - http://tech.airsoftcanada.com/TM/TM%...ramg36c-01.jpg Modified blueprints (Red circles dictate what snapped off) - http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/4815/tmg36cnr2.jpg Last edited by Chuuchuu; July 17th, 2007 at 18:07.. |

ouch, i would use JB weld, holds stronger than epoxy in my opinion. I'd take off the inner barrel out though before you start, in case you permanently glue that in place.
