Barrel extension advice

Just got my first gun, a G3 SG1. I have seen one with a CA HK51 barrel on it and it looks great. My question is, whould I have to extend the inner barrel as well? Currently has a 469mm long inner, and the HK51 looks to be a few inches longer than stock outerbarrel. Can I pull this off, or will I be messing anything up?

You don't HAVE to put a longer inner barrel, but you could, just to make use of the additional space. It comes down to what you want out of it.

I am also looking at silencer option, but the SG-1 barrel is not threaded. How would I put one on. Any particular silencer you would recomend. Thanks for your help.

One Point to make quick, why not just enjoy the gun for afew games, go talk to players in person, see what they have, gain knowledge about upgrades from reading/talking to other players with the same gun you have? Not every player needs to upgrade their gun straight from the box, just go play and then decide for yourself what you want out of it.
