BE Xm8 problem
when i pull the trigger on my be xm8,. the motor makes a tiny nudging sound, charactteristic to that of a motor having trouble cycling due to a "dead" battery. Im worried that there is some sort of short, or that my battery is screwed. I am a newb and do not want to risk taking the gearbox apart. Note: The battery gets hot* after pulling the trigger a bunch of times (sounds like a short :| ).

i think my gun did that, first when i charged my battery it broke, then i tryed a new battery, didnt work at all, tryed a battery at home, it worked, bought 2 proper airsoft batterys, and gess what.. it broke, it just made a slight jolt, i'm a slight noob 2 but i know how to take a gun apart, i think it is because my gearbox jambed, what happend was a plastic bit on a rail inside came off it and for some odd reson jamed the gearbox, if ur gun has a plastic gearbox case dont dare fireing it anymore because if it is jamed the spring could shoot back and smash the back of the gearbox case, thats what happened to me.

Sounds like your piston may be cocked. Be careful of the gearbox exploding on you because of the spring under tension.
