G3 sas Conversion

Ive had my g3 Sas for about 6 months now and i have started to have an idea of modifying to something like a Classic army SAR, like a mc-51 with an ris front and stock... Im not sure if this is possible or not though....

oh come on, replica guns are one thing, but FAKE replicas? the SAS is just sad
well you can throw out everything from the reciever forward because the reciever works with any TM or CA G3 parts

yeh its not actually a "real" gun i know... would a CA mc51 cocking tube be compatible in front of the reciver? someone told me it would but i couldnt use my hop up after. Is this true?
Is a cockin tube what id need to mod to a mc-51 of sorts?

the cocking tube has nothing to do with your hopup unit, ive got a custom built cocking tube on my TM G3, and it can be swapped with the cocking tube from the CA M41 with no issues at all, the only issue ive encountered from swapping front ends is the barrel length and cylinder type, and it was a tight fit when i switched to a metal body

Does not the cocking handle reveal the hop-up dial when cycled?

yeah but the MC-51 has a longer cocking tube than the SAS, so the port should open even further than it does now, or you wont be able to cock the gun all the way back, either way it should be just fine. the cocking tube on my HK11 doesnt have a cocking lever yet and i can adjust hopup just fine

unscrew the two bolts underneath the cocking tube on the gussets of the receiver, unscrew any set screws on the outer barrel and just pull it off, may take alot of force at first.
slip the new tube on, screw any set screws in, put the two bolts back on and your done

you could convert a G3 SAS to an SG1 without a problem, just be sure you have the cylinder to match your barrel

"If you installed the MC51 cocking tube, you won't be able to cock it at all.
And the cocking handle will be loose (not springed to the front).

To adjust hop up, you'll need to use your finger and finger nails to open up
the ejection port manuaul, then hold it open and adjust the dial. "

this true?
