AI FR no longer needed with newer WA SCW 2 and 3 series pistols?

I'll be the first to admit that well I do work on AEG's just about every day, I know jack about gas pistols.

I do have this thing for Western Arms pistols though. We recently ordered some in for the store and I wanted to get some AI flow restrictor to have in stock for them as well as my personal WA guns that I plan to use green gas or propane with.

I see AI no longer has them for sale to dealers though.

I've been asking around about why no one has them anymore. Some of the people that I know at AEX and Airsoft GI have told me they are no longer needed on the newer WA SCW 2 and 3 guns.

You guys over here at Airsoft Canada seem to be up on the WA issues. Opinions on this?

You might want to message MadMax on these forums, he's the inventor/owner of airsoft innovations and knows more about WA GBBs than even WA I think.

Sorry, I'm revisiting the design and don't want to keep selling the original design with a new version on the way.

I notice that later SCW build GBBs by WA have the same piston diameter to the original Magna build so they should recoil as hard as the Magna build with the same weight slide. However, I did record significantly higher recoil speeds on a SCWI Expert 5" over the original Magna build. I think they changed the valving a bit in the blowback assembly.

I note that SCWIII uses similar blowback bits to SCWI.

Any comments from anyone on the newer SCW's being able to handle green gas and propane without modifying the pistol?

I can't say for sure as I haven't enough experience with them. I do know they recoil harder than the Magna build. If WA hasn't improved their slide strength then they'd be more likely to break then the older build.
