broke my p226 trying to install the guarder metal slide
i was 'planishing' the part # p226-5
and i wasn't being careful and put it in the vice to hold it so i could sand it more easily...anyway after sanding it enough it turns out i squished it a little bit and the loading nozzle wouldn't fit right. i decided to use pliers to try and just pull it apart a bit...not a good idea, i broke the damn thing clear in two. :banghead: sooo yah i'm definitly not a very good gunsmith... so the reason i'm posting is to find out if there is a way to remedy this problem without going out and buying another tm p226...which would suck. thanks for any info, brendan.

i have done that upgrade and the guarder metal frame. it takes a long time, when i filed it down by hand it took me nearly 9 hours to complete the upgrade.

I learned a new word just now. Never heard "planish" before.
Best of luck to you on getting your 226 back up & running! |

Yeah, I'd say JAFA is your best bet for getting spare TM bits. He's in Japan right now and picks up stuff from TM.

And here I thought JAFA meant "Just Another Fucking ........A-word". Oh well, just learned there's some guy named JAFA that is a whiz at getting hard to find parts.

not just hard to find... impossible to find in some cases. a spare tm sig p226 front sight was not possible from any of the major retailers. nobody had or would sell one to me but somehow JAFA found one.
