Water Proofing
Hey all,
After searching, I've yet to find any info on water proofing airsoft guns. I'm not looking to submerse the gun, but more for playing in the rain... through milsims and the like. Any ideas? Suggestions? Links?

Moving on to the answer of the question. making your aeg water and sand resistant. Step one, find ether duct tape or electrical tape in the guns colour. Step two, look over your aeg for any and all openings to the inside where the mechbox and battery and hop up are located. Step three, take matching tape and cover openings fully leaving a 1 cm at least adhesive at the border of all openings. Step four play your games. This is a more temporary solution at beast, but it protects to the point where the water wont do any damage, to the more important part of the gun. It wont last more then 24 hours and or a submersion. Infact if you submerse the gun. Your gun will brake the tape wont do a thing but slow it down. Hope this helps there's probably more permanent solutions but i dont know them. But atleast its something you can do to make your gun hold out in the rain. It also dramadicly reduses dust in the internal area. |

air tank hopper
Not a mag. I had one rather still do. It uses a 10 round grav feed hopper and a cord that plugs in to the back for air. Where do you see a hopper on that m4 up there or any of them. If they really were .65 call paint guns you would see a hopper sticking out the top. No disrespect dude. |

Okay.
Let's try to keep on topic. Thanks for the temp solution. I'll use it tomorrow at the WWII game if need be. I'm going to work on a good one.

none taken. was just thinking of one of my friends who dropped bout 2 Gs on a PB sniper rifle from Tippmann, PSG-1. Hopper attaches to the clip. hopper snot really visible from the side. Gun also operates without hopper, as the clip has a feed for the pbs can hold up to 6 or so. http://www.sniper-zone.com/bron/bron.htm has several pics of paintball guns that could easily be mistaken fot airsoft.

Just cover all the electrical parts in wax and let most of the water out of the barrel before firing. all the mechanical goodies dont need to be water proofed.
Note: you will have to clean the whole thing with a hair dryer afterwards (assuming that you own one) |

What about the battery and the connectors? If they are wet but not submerged will the gun still shoot?

They only paintball guns that come close to those are RAP4 paintball guns, magazine fed, tanks within the stock, shell ejecting, full auto
You can even SEE the BBs in the p90... http://sparrowunit.smugmug.com/galle...77631/Original Id love to have a water proof AEG, would sure make some interesting scenarios, if a field had a deep enough river running through... Cheers! Alex |

i have a tough time believing that photo, it has to be staged. his radio would fuck up, with his gun his contacts would short out, theres no way you can water proof an aeg. too much stuff to cover, battery connections, air nozzle, seams, holes, motor, you couldnt do it.

I don't even know why you guys are so worried about water getting in your guns. I've played in crazy rain before. During one winter game ice cracked when I was crawling on it, my gun as well as part of my body ended up in the water. I fired that gun 20 seconds later and it worked fine.
We played a game in Woodstock last year where I couldn't see anything 10 meters away from me because of the rain. People actually had a big ass fire fight in that rain. Not a single person complained about gun problems.
