I'd go with an aftermarket motor (Hummer or Systema Super Torque Up) for longer battery life and lower ROF (you said it's a "sniper" weapon, so you don't need ROF).

Incidentally, I have a TM AK with a Systema SIG 550 6.04 inner barrel (529mm) and a 200mm KM lightweight silencer. I still have about 8 cm of space between the end of the barrel and the end of the silencer. So for a 590mm inner barrel, you'll need about a 250mm silencer...300mm if you want any silencing effect at all.

You can also pick up an extended AK barrel. Redwolf has them, and they fit a 590mm barrel, but they have a milled-on Dragunov-style flash hider.

PDI also makes a long barrel:

You'll need a Type-0 (no hole) cylinder....if you want a real long barrel, get a Bore Up cylinder set - looks like you're using a spring that will maximize it's effectiveness.

I find Systema tappet plates quite brittle, expecially the Area1000 series. I like the Guarder ones, but if you can find a PGC V3 tappet plate, use that - it's a really soft nylon that REALLY hard to break because it will flex.

thank you skruface for your suggestions. ill think about adding the bore-up cylinder in my upgrade list. i think ill still go for high ROF, so i can fire away incase i get flanked or boxed.

-Is the difference really that SIGNIFICANT when comparing a 509mm to a 650mm tight barrel?

-im still having 2nd thoughts about going >509mm tight barrel because ill be sacrificing looks for performance. (Flashhider (509mm) vs. Silencer (650mm))

-PDI is better than guarder?

529 is the longest I've used, so I'm afraid I can't help you with that one.

That depends. I think that Guarder springs are generally more consistent than PDI ones, but I've had very good luck with PDI 150% springs. PDI springs tend to lose velocity faster over time after breaking in, in my experience.

I'll be eagerly awaiting your progress.

Just sighted in my new CA M15A4 CQB and its been a dream to handle and shoot.

IF I ever get another AEG, I have my eye on the CA SLR-105, same CA quality, being able to use m16 mags ect....and modifying it as a high powered sniping tool.

How have you found the build quiality of the SLR-105. Was it made before or after the CQB?

this sight looks like a good compliment to such a gun.
