APS-2 more distance???

hey all,

I just bought a used APS-2 with extras, for a pretty good price (24,000 yen/240.00 cdn) I have only used it in one game, with one kill.
I was sigting it today and noticed that at 35-40 meters the accurecy is not consistant. This is with usung the maruzen grand master BB's and a laylax silencer. There is a gold barrel that comes out of the gun, when u take off the silencer, I dont know all the details because its used and my japanese ability does'nt cover technical stuff..

I want to turn this baby into a decent sniper rifle, good distance, great accurecy etc. but i still want to be able to use it in games. In Japan guns have to be under .95 (new shitty law)

Any ideas?

The barrel sounds like it might be stock (~6.08mm). If your APS-2 is the SV (Sniper Version) it comes with a 6.05mm inner barrel, all other APS-2 variants don't have that barrel from what I've read.

Also, your gun will be happiest if you clean the inner barrel often, like every 20-30 shots. Sort out if it's happy with just a dry patch run through it a few times, or a patch with a drop of oil a few times, followed by a dry patch. My M24 with 6.03mm barrel prefers the oil then dry, but my KJW M700 with 6.05mm barrel prefers straight dry patch. A lot of my shooting when not playing is done in my basement at 30ft. After a couple dozen shots, the dime or bottlecap size groups I get start getting bigger and more unpredictable, so I run the cleaning rod through then start shooting again, fixes it right away. At least you picked the best and most consistant ammo for it, that's a HUGE chunk of 'mucho improtante'.

Thanks for the tips and I took another look and I was shooting at 43 meters, first sniper rifle so pretty cool!

Another question,
in japan i found a part made by laylax or pss? and its called a strength adjuster. Does this do what I think? is there a part that I can manually and quickly adjust my spring tenssion on the field?

I think that of what you speak (Laylax is a brand made by First Factory if I'm not mistaken, their springs are SWEET...... I've a Laylax 150SP in my M24, cocking it is very light and smooth for what it puts out; PSS I believe is a reference to the gun it works in or something, I know PSS2 is APS-2 compatible)............ the strength adjuster (got a link or a pic? ) most likely allows you to add or reduce the about of compression on the spring, kinda like adding or taking off a bearing spring guide. I've seen a set of washers on WGC I think that you add into the piston to compress the spring more for a bit higher fps out of it. I wouldn't say that you can quickly adjust your power in the field with it (like I said, hard to say without seeing what you found), but with the right tools on the hood of a car you most likely could adjust it in about 10mins or so. That's roughly how long it takes me to open my CA M24, pull the spring out, put it back in and get back to shooting. Takes only a couple allen wrenches and an adjustable wrench. Much easier than trying to do anything with an AEG!!

43 meters isn't bad if your gun is stock, that's 140ft. Might be able to do that with my G19, have done that with my MP5.

Should work to get it up to 60m, 200ft, then you'll have some fun!

Hmm I tried to look it up on the net but no luck.

Got it in a catalouge that I picked up at the Tokyo airsoft show. Talked to my buddy at my night game last night, he has an APS type-96, he has this thing and says it allows you to adjust the power up but not down and only a little bit. He has a interesting custom, he packed the barrel with sand, super super tightly packed. Very solid and accurate.
