Airsoft AK 74 Questions
Alright, I had this idea awhile back of taking a dboys ak 74-s, remove its under fold stock, and attaching an SVD Stock and grip, so my question is, can i do this without having to find a new place for the motor, or what?

Underfolding stock on AKS-74? you mean side folding? Or is it an AKMS?
The stock hinge on the back of the receiver might need to be removed, as the grip/stock might not fit properly. The motor goes in the grip the same way, so that's not an issue

the motor should be fine (V3 box has the motor fixed onto it) but i think youll have issues fitting the stock as the attach alot difrently. if you have some wood working skills id say just build a svd style stock with the AK attachment points on it.
That being said and underfolder is not the right place to start as it doesnt have the stock mounting points at the rear, youd wanna starts with a full stock ak and go from there. Some of the AK gurus will chime in im sure but what your looking to do wont be a simple drop in by any means and with a underfolder itll be even harder, making a SVD style stock will be easiest IMO because you can just laminate some nice wood together and cut, chisel, file and sand it to fit the exact way it needs to as opposed to messin with an existing stock that not made to fit nd may not have enough room to modify to make it fit you could just wind up killing a stock and having nothing to show for it besides a pile of wood chips

I've put a plastic JG SVD stock on an AK-47S body before, it fits perfectly but it's plastic so there's that
It'll fit the body no problem, just take out all the underfolding stock hardware and fill the holes with putty and paint over it

a full stock version will be easyer to attach a stock too.
also make sure you have someone who has an svd stock so you can copy it onto your wood for reference also for ease of carving and install try making the stock only and just have it butt up to the existing pistol grip itll save you alot of potential headaches in the end

I had this idea while playing resistance, and thought an AKified version of the main battle rifle would look cooler

An underfolding ak will already be wired to take a stick battery, so this is a non issue

The ak74 doesn't have an underfolding stock. It only folds to the side, I'm not sure if the receiver will be in the same shape as an ak47 style in which 'svd' stocks are made for.

Well, i have realized that what i ment was an AK47 with under folding stock, and after what some of the other guys on here said, i know that i am going to have to do some wood work, as well as some experimenting, to get the look i want

www.frontowiec.com. Click the Union Jack on the far right side to translate the page into English. Located in Poland, faster shipping than most companies in Eastern Europe.
Almost anywhere you find the uniforms for under $100, shipping will put it over $100.
