Importing a Firearm or Weapon Into Canada (The LAW)

I hope this isok to post, if not feel free to remove it or move it.

I was talking to my cousin and his wife (who is a borader guard/custom agent) the other night and I mentioned about how I got in to WWII Re-enacting useing airsoft. In the conversation she said about how people try to bring them across. She sent me a email with this link in it. It is what all the guards follow.

http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...-eng.html#P007

Basicaly it is up to the guard if they will let it in. "if you take it to a bank and say give me all your money, will they give it to you or laugh"

That is basically the dumbed down version for the noobs. Now I just need the admins to change me to the AV group

Unfortunately there is a hole in your theory that you can drive a MACK truck through; airsoft rifles are not firearms.

Stick around, read the FAQ section and get informed before you start trying to drive guns across the border.

There is already that information and MUCH more posted around the board, mostly in the FAQ or AV sections.

Oh Gosh, another one, I'm getting another headache now, FOR GOD'S SAKE, you can't just drive up to the border with replicas and ask the Border agent, can I bring this in, pleeeeeeease? You think he'll just go: Sure, you can bring replica firearms that look exactly like the real ones in without the proper papers! Come on!

I dont recall saying that I was going to bring one in. I will read my first post....

She just said that if it looks real you won't pass go. if its clear its fine. If you are going to by clearyou might as well get Mommy and Daddy to buy you one at Canadian Tire.

I said to them that I just got in to WWII Re-enacting. When asked about what you use for a wepon I said Airsoft.

Then she said about how she has stoped people from bring them in and sent me that link.

Plus I fond that link a better to read then the, who says this and who calls them that. To the individual person they call them fire arms it is easy for them to trak larger orders with paper works then every Tom Dick and Harry attemting to bring them over.

Its a lot safer to buy them over here as it is all legal.

The D19-2 memorandum goes into much better detail as to what the CBS Agents are supposed to do when they see a gun-looking-thing, and how they determine what is admissable for entry.

Exactly what mcguyver said.

They have specific guidelines they use. All previously outlined in areas you don't have access to yet.

I shall now share this link,

Don't worry about it, B@K3R. Once you're age-verified you'll find plenty of guns to buy in-country. In the meantime, read, save and read some more. You, and we, will be glad you did.
