Question Noob here. not sure what gun he has. help would be greatly appreciated.

hey there guys and gals. i recently got into the sport after a long drawn out brain fart. and this is WAY better then paintball was. needless to say im hooked. i ended up doing a trade for the gun below but have been told by a few people that its different makes. can anyone help? from the research ive done it looks to be a ICS Sportline Smith and Wesson M&P 15, it has an all metal body and a one peice gearbox assembly.

here are some pics. and thanks in advance

If you look at the picture you will see that the ICS gearbox is made in two parts. They are the only ones to use that type of gearbox. If the gearbox doesn't separate in two, it's another brand. The brand is usually stamped on the receiver and the gearbox and the magazine if it's the original one.

How about you remove the carry handle and put the aimpoint and magnifier on the rail of the receiver? Remove also the high cheek rest. M4 would look better...

If you want to know if its an ICS check the trigger guard; All ICS have the trademark there.

DUH... And what 5kull wrote before me....

If the mechbox is not in 2 parts then its not an ICS.
Might be a Jing gong (JG)?

Smith&Wesson are trademarked by Cybergun.

after pulling it apart there are no markings on the internals. the only other marking on the gun is a C and an A/F EDIT- there is no marking around or on thr trigger guard

heres some more pics. basiclly im looking to find out what approximately this thing is worth and if its worth upgrading some stuff or better to just buy a higher end gun.

The "CAL 6mm" means that is a cybergun. Im pretty sure is a Dboys M4 as I mentioned before. Not the greatest thing, but it will serve you well with some minor upgrades.

Yes, downgrading the spring so it shoots 380 fps. 410 is too high to game with in most places. A good tightbore and hop up will give you better results than all the fps in the world.

And a new bucking and quality bbs.
Use it until it breaks.

Edit: Is just me, or the spring is fully compressed ?

Yes, pretty much. I would recommend a guarder clear for the hop up bucking and a Prometheus barrel. There are so many parts available that you will encounter many recommendations on what is best, this combo has worked well for me, but for your needs a Mad Bull barrel with another bucking might also serve well. It depends on your style of play and what you want out of your rifle. As others have said, use it stock for a few games to get a better idea of what needs to be upgraded.

If you weren't sure from the answers before, it's a DBoys.
