M4 Lower Receiver
I have an Ares M4, the back of the receiver where the stock connects to the receiver, snapped (it is aluminum).
The Ares M4 takes real steel stock tubes and I'm having a hard time finding a brand that makes a receiver that will fit. All the receiver i've seen for AEG's have that stock tube sticking out. These are the ares bodies. http://aresairsoft.com/mbody.html

How did you manage to snap it? Its not easy to snap those things.

That's what I asked my friend, I lent it to him for a month, it came back snapped. He told me he tripped and it fell on a tree stump.

Even if someone knew, they're not supposed to tell un-AV'd users. Lower receiver basically means the same thing as a gun.

I understand, I just want to know if there are any, I'm 17 now, I turn 18 next year. I just would like to know if the gun is fixable so I can hang on to it for a year.

I'm sure it's fixable by getting a new lower. How easy it is to get a new proprietary lower is another thing...

Yea that's what i'm wondering, so far I think ares receivers are only compatible with ares receivers.
*edit* Better question to ask, would the ares mechbox fit into any other Receiver, like a G&P?

The answer is maybe.... maybe it's as easy as dropping it in or maybe it's harder like dremelling a bit or maybe it's even harder in that it won't fit period.
As for getting it fixed. Yeah it might be a good idea to hold onto it for a year. Worst case you sell it to someone as a parts gun, best case you find a lower that fits and everything is good. Getting a lower will be kind of hard. You can find them in Canada but they're not really common and most of the ones I've seen are in the AV only section of this website. I think that's all I can really say about it other than expect to pay between $150-250+ for a lower depending on plastic or metal, type of matal (zinc vs zinc alloy vs alu/steel, vs CNC'ed alu/steel), and such. PS: Maybe you should ask your friend to pay all or part of the repair cost....

He is paying for all the repairs, or lower. Guess I'll just hang on to this and either field my TM or just get a new gun for now.

Actually do you have pics? Maybe it's as easy as doing a quick and dirty JB Weld fix? You might as well try it.

Oh Boy, I would just get Av'd and look in the classifieds for a new lower that just sucks. He must have hit that tree hella good.
