Can you use silicon lube instead of silicon oil?

it may sound like a stupid question but I want to know

Depends on what kind it is. If its automotive with petroleum in it, you'll end up screwing up the rubber seals.

There is airsoft specific lubes you can purchase which are used for creating better airseals within AEG cylinders and GBB's. Usually gearbox 'lube' kits include these, or better yet, you could order from ARS and get their 'Sticky-G' stuff.

I find that silicone shock oil from RC stores works well in my guns.

lube is a general term for anything that provides lubrication. Silicone oil and silicon grease are both silicone lube.

In a GBBR, thick silicone oil works well, but I find synthetic grease works even better for sliding parts.
In AEG's I've used synthetic grease for years and it works fantastic. Very long lasting and resistant to cold temperatures.
