Age and Airsoft
Hi, I'm not 18 and want to get into airsoft. I'm wondering if an exception can be made.

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Just for you, no problem. (insert sarcasim)

Some places will let you play. The earliest age that is allowed is 16, before thut and its tough luck. I suggest you fill out your user profile a bit more so locals can try and assess if you can play or not.

Different communities hold different regulations. The best you can do is consult your local club or clubs and see if it is possible for you to participate. Not everyone operates the same way.

Exception have been made, but that's what they are; exceptions.
Hit up your local club, and check with them. Be respectful regardless of the outcome, don't dig yourself into a hole before you even start like many that try to play underaged. |

A willingness to learn and patience often goes a long way in the airsoft community. *hint hint*

If your denied, I suggest asking if you can tag along to take photos. Everyone loves action photos, and that way you can get to know the people, the environment of the club, and still have some fun! |

Find your local groups, politely introduce yourself, ask to attend and observe.

I'm pretty sure with parent's consent/accompanying you, you will be able to go to more than half of the games out there.

The key to most places is that the parent has to be actively playing as well, not just dropping you off and waiting in the car as with a lot of paintball fields. I think this point needs to be clarified.
That being said, the op never mentioned an age other than "not 18", which could mean anything. Under 16, and you're not playing at all even if both your parents were playing.

On this website your free to access tonnes of content and read reviews and learn and explore airsoft and this community regardless of your age. Once your old enough you can then become Age verified and access other parts which are limited to buying and selling and acquisition.
In your local community your rules will be set by the field owners and their insurance providers, it is not that people do not want to enjoy the sport with younger people (although some do not, which is also fine) it is usually that their insurance provider will not cover liability for minors. Check out the games in and around your area and contact the people running them. Let them know your exact age and if your parent or legal guardian can accompany you. Cheers. |
