Chargin Handle Spring HELP
**This is for a G&G GR-16a3 model that has a COSMETIC charging handle**
So, basically i want to start by saying that I've gone through about 5 springs for my (cosmetic) charging handle, mostly from friends pulling it (justin!) As I've come to realize i need something a little more dependable. So what I did one day, was replace the spring with a elastic band. " a thin elastic band " sound funny? it is, but i basically wrapped (folded) a small write elastic band over and over again, until it became about the same distance from the charging handle end to the screw that would have held the spring in place. Then, somehow get the elastic band over the screw and slowly start screwing the small screw on the top of the inside of your upper-receiver. once this is done, then simply stretch the elastic band over the charging handle end, (either after or before you insert the charging handle). SO YOU BASICALLY REPLACE YOUR SPRING WITH AN ELASTIC BAND This should give you more constant tension, as well as a 'snappier' sounds to it. I've only had this done for about a week or so, and i dont pull the charging handle much at all, (because its cosmetic on my G&G m16-a3) though still it has much resistance to the drawback of the handle. I personally think this is better than springs, and if and when it breaks, simply do these very INEXPENSIVE steps all over. Hope this helps someone that is pissed off as i am about buying springs over and over and over again... semperhigh!
