Does anyone remember where the tutorial for the Npas installation is?

I can't seem to locate it.

Basically I want to know if I follow the same procedure of trimming the nozzle spring and cutting the X marks in the plastic?

I believe you'd have to cut or shave off an "X" to allow venting of the gas, so yes that is the same procedure. However, the cutting/snipping of the nozzle spring depends on the platform you are installing it on. For the PDW, I had to snip an exposed piece of the spring to allow me easy access of the new valve for adjusting fps with the "key". But, when I was installing it on my AK model, I simply dropped in the new valve without having to snip anything on the spring.

Why would the little piece of spring get in the way? Does the spring go behind or in front of the npas?

it's because the last coil of the spring blocks you from plugging the npas tool through the whole spring and into the NPAS.

I used this tutorial, but there's no mention of an X mark.

Do not cut it back....

Cutting it back increases the speed, too much for the NPAS to compensate. Put in the NPAS without cutting anything, spring included and you will be fine. If you need to slow the gun more you can clip a coil off the spring and the gun will drop about 100 fps.

Go to YouTube and search for "ra tech how the npas works" will help. Also remember the position of the cylinder bulb in the bolt before install, that would help to decide if you have to cut.
