Battery Problem

I got a 9.6V 1400mA AUG battery yesterday and I charged it on my wall charger(output of 12V, 300mA) for about 6-6.5 hours.

I plugged it into my AEG and I tried firing it, but nothing happened. The mechbox did not cycle at all.

Then, I took my old 8.4V mini and I plugged it in and tried and the AEG worked just fine.

I then checked to see if the 9.6V battery was acctually holding a charge, so I hooked up my discharger to it and the RED LED was on, so I am assuming that the battery is holding charge.

Does anyone know what's going on with my new battery? Do I need to charge it for more than 6-6.5 hours?

Thanks.

Is your charger compatible with the battery? Some chargers only charge one type of batts, NiCad or NiMH.

Charger

Well, the charger is a NiCd charger, and the battery is a NiCd as well.

Thanks for the reply.

you may want to get a volt meter to see what charge it has

Might it be faulty wiring in the battery itself?
