Tactical Airsoft - Lessons from Docholiday
Some of you might already know my Youtube Channel. In the past I have only uploaded game footage and reviews. I decided to expand my channel and upload an educational video once a week that will hopefully help some people to become a more effective Airsoft player.

First, nice vids.
Only question. Wouldnt it be better to switch to a full mag on your secondary that to take the '' 10 round mag'' ?

Good point. I think it depends.
Let's say you have a full secondary and only 1 mag left on your belt for your primary with 10 rounds in it. If in that case your primary goes dry i would speed reload the 10 round magazine if i can only engage the target with my primary due to distance. If its close enough so I could effectively engage with my secondary I i would probably transition to that instead of speed reloading the primary. However I need about 2 seconds to speed reload my primary so if I know i can take the target down with what i have left in my primary mag i will probably still speed reload the primary rather than going to my secondary. So for me i think it takes the same time to reload my primary or to draw my secondary. I think it depends on how comfortable you are using your pistol vs your primary, good point though for people that like to transition!! Thanks for the comment. |

I would think that this could also apply to if there are no more magazines available for the primary or the primary has malfunctioned and transition to the secondary is the best option. Great videos.

Nice informative vids for new guys like me!
Is it ok to let your mag just drop down for speed reloads? o_o...wont they break?

For gas mags I would not recommend it.
I do it with AEG once all the time and they tend to survive it. I have done speed reloads this way for about 4 month at places like UA and I had one mag break from it so far. (King Arms M4 mag and ACM M4 mags is what I use, nothing fancy.) But it could happen yes. And thanks for the positive feedback |
