My standard sidearm is a KWA PTP. I think I've tagged more people with that than with any other gun, AEG's included... all of it outdoors! (We limit indoor FPS to 320, PTP is 350 on Propane)

i run 2 pistols on me at a time (not using them both at once though, usually) with 2 mags for my WA SV6 and 6 mags for my TM hicappa, I use the stock WA SV6 to tag long range targets because the performance is 100X better than the TM even though the TM is upgraded to the tits, but i have alot more mags for the TM so it gets all the close and dirty work

I have 3 for my KJW Beretta, which seems to be enough for the 45 minute games at XT in Winnipeg (unless there are a lot of people and I need to use it for suppression).
5 is the most I've ever used in one game.
This of course depends mostly on your style of play, however, Ive seen people use less or more than that.
3 (2 plus what it comes with) is probably good number for an initial purchase- it will force you to learn without leaving you at a real disadvantage.
Also: invest in a good dump pouch. Watching your mags hit a concrete floors sucks.

Edit: Never ever ever lend your pistol to anyone. No matter how pleasant or experienced they are it just invites the wrath of the GBB God and bad things happen.

The only reason to carry a pistol is to fight your way back your the rifle you should never have set down.

Althow while driving it's nice to have quick access to one....

Depends which pistol and or how many. Would rock one of the glock's with 8+2 long mags. Short load or full capacity. Cqb or outdoors. But outdoors I'd likely use the mk23 as primary with 4 mags.

I know ducky has gone out with up to 6 pistols and spare mags but not sure how many mags in total.

In your case, it's to sneak into your pants during mil-sim games so you can pretend to be a civilian, sit around the NATO base chatting up the soldiers there, then laying waste to half of them because they were dumb enough to have their rifles relaxed.

Of course I'm right, you got a few of us with that trick you bugger.

Pistols are extremely fun in cqb...good lord I had no idea until the first time I tried it a couple of weeks ago. Especially if you get a good one, my KWA KSP45 shoots hard and straight...love it.

I almost always play with a pistol as my primary in CQB. With my TM 1911a1 (a VERY accurate pistol) I usually carry 5 mags, but I rarely use more than 3. The only upgrades in the gun are a Tanio Koba twist barrel and a nine ball hop up rubber.

I sometimes play with two baby Hi-Capa, but they are not very accurate pistols. When I do, I carry 6 mags and usually run through 3 or 4 mags in a game, since I have to shoot more to compensate for the lower accuracy.

In CQB I use my USP alot, and in outdoor I have it on me but I dont use it that much. It's there if my primary goes down.

Right now i just run a pistols setup when playing indoors. I have my HiCapa 4.3 in a drop leg holster and my M1911 in a kydex hip holster. Both pistols have 2 mags extra, carried on my belt. Looking to upgrade my drop leg Safariland 6004. I have a TM Sig P226 that im thinking of using more often. Im also looking into buying my Glock 17 back (its been 4 years and i miss it). Yes im a pistol whore.

Currently in the process of waiting for my tax return to upgrade the HiCapa 4.3 to a metal slide, and looking into getting a full metal Kimber/Springfield Armory kit for the M1911.
