C7A2 = TM M4A1?

im just wondering if a TM M4A1 could be substituted in place of a custom made rifle body to make a C7A2? and what parts would be necessary to make one.

this is a current image of the prototypes being issued in Kabul.

What're you starting with?

So let's say you've got a basic M16 with a flat-top reciever and full stock.

You'll need;
M4 Retracting Stock
Triad Foresight Rail
C79 Elcan (or replica)
Can of green spraypaint
C7/8 metal body (if you want the complete look)

Do not buy the thermold mags...they're poo.

They break ridiculously easy.

And Spas-Tick22, do you want yours to look like the first or second pic? Both can be done rather easily. Not cheaply, but easily.

Cause the real steel version's Lips break off at the slightest bit of pressure. So if you want to portray a Cdn rifle use standard Armalite mags.

P.S
I have heard of a limited edition of C7 metal bodies coming down the line soon so keep an eye out for those as they will probably get snapped up faster than donoughts at Fat Camp :razz:

I love the idea of getting a C7 rifle, I love the look of the C7A2, but I guess it'll have to wait. As for converting the rifle, to me all it seems is you need a longer barrel, but maybe more. Good luck with that.

Suggested C7A2 plan

Here's what I suggest for creating a C7A2:
SRC-AEG-M4A1FM
SRC M4A1 Full Metal

GP-KIT-357
G&P M16A2 Front Set ( OD )

GP-ACC-M16PGODN
G&P Pistol Grip for M16 Series ( OD )

GP-ACC-381
G&P M4A1 6 Position Sliding Buttstock ( OD )

ACTION-SP-15
ACTION High Grade Spring ( 1.5J, 380fps )

INT-96-1200M
Intellect 9.6V 1200mAh - Mini Type ( Ni-MH )

The above parts will work perfectly together. The mini Intellect battery has a very high discharge, can crank the Action 380 fps spring, and is able to fit in the G&P M16 front end. When replacing the original SRC retractable stock, it can be sold here on ASC for probably around $25 or so.

If you rather have a battery stock, here are your options. I'd go for the STAR battery stock because it's battery has a very high mah. If you prefer a smaller profile stock, just stick with the above G&P 6-position stock.

STAR-SET-STOCK02OD
Star Complete Stock Set 2 ( OD )

GP-ACC-417B
G&P M4A1 Extended Battery Buttstock with 9.6V Battery ( OD )

If the whole project seems expensive, then I'd suggest just getting the SRC M4A1, G&P OD M16 front end, and a can of Krylon OD spray paint. SRC M16 front ends are pure crap and will wobble out of the box. Replacement of that assembly is a must.

Keep in mind that you'll have to get an Elcan replica too.
