Hey just popping in to see if anyone knows how to undo something that has medium strength thread locker on it? It's currently stuck on and Will not come off.

If it's an option, heat. But we're talking about 250°C so it may not be a good idea for everything; at high temps Loctite reverts to liquid form. The actual temperature varies from color to color/between products, the bottle or package should indicate its temperature limits.

Obviously the parts and screws will be really hot, so handle with care.

Otherwise, for medium... should come loose with enough torque (you may need to use something like a ratchet wrench with a screw driver bit adapter). Go slowly and work the screw back and forth gradually to break up the thread lock. But depending on how strong it is, and the quality of the materials, there's a risk you'll mess up your threads.

Hit it with a hammer.

I'm not joking, I do this for a living, just hit the top of it with a hammer to break the threadlocker and facilitate the removal.

If it's a larger nut, use a chisel and hammer to spin it off. Works with stripped nuts and also to preserve from stripping. This tip saved me cutting my strut towers out during one of my suspension swaps.

For smaller stuff, heat with a torch or apply a lot of torque very carefully not to strip the head off.

next time please use a RELEVANT title that sums up what's in the thread (like, How to remove medium-strength thread lock) and please post it in the right section.

What is this "something" as it could be much more easy to troubleshoot if we knew what this "something" is.

Ah got it off just needed two people one to hold each thing. It was on my madbull tracer unit didn't like how easy it was to unscrew it couldn't get tight on my barrel threads. Thanks for the answers though I'm keeping those on mine for if it happens to another piece.
