real steel parts

I wonder what real steel parts can usually fit on their airsoft counterparts (mostly the mp5a5 which is what I have)? Obviouslyy the RS bodies wont fit because they're not made to house an airsoft mechbox but what about the likes of handguards, stocks etc.

For AEG's you can get RS Handguards, but you need a special delta ring (king arms makes em). Pretty much your stuck with AEG stuff xept for accessories, flashhiders, redi-mag, magpulls, etc.

For GBBR's you can use about 75% RS Parts, which is what im doing with my WA Magna.

I have see RS stocks on airsoft M4's but they are pretty rare and take some modification to make it work.

I assume he was talking about unmodified drache. Anyone can mod anything to work if they spend enough time and efforts on it.

my WE M4 currently has magpul milspec ctr stock, trigger guard, moe pistol grip, rear buis, and afg. im sure i could fit the moe handguard i have but the WE RIS is solid!

as for the AEG counterparts. very few parts will fit without modification especially for the MP5, there is not much you can find to replace =]

There are very few real MP5 parts you can get in Canada, since the MP5 and all it's variants have been prohibited for about 19 years now.

And if you did order from overseas, the cost of the parts would liekly not be worth it. Waste of time and money for an MP5.

Everyone has their opinion...

I, for one, like to have real steel parts on all of my guns.

Full steel guns are awesome.

Likely I had more in real parts on 1 of my guns than you have spent in airsoft guns total, assuming you spent $3K in guns alone. I like them too.

But that is for an AR. Good luck finding real parts for an MP5 as the OP has stated, and especially things like barrels, definately no receivers of any way shape or form and the cost for handguards and stocks is many hundreds if you are lucky, and likely they are going to have to be imported as the MP5 and all variants have been prohibited here since 1991. Not a big market for accessories or parts.

Definately not worth it for an MP5.

Fair enough, but what's to stop them from ordering unrestricted parts from the US?

Nothing at all. But, what is non-restricted for an MP5 is a pretty small list of usable items. The barrel is technically not restricted, but I promise you if the CBSA inspects one, the RCMP is going to get in touch with you. There is no reason to buy a barrel for a prohibited gun that is illegal to discharge anywhere in Canada by a civillian, even if you are in your 40's and have a converted auto? The only remaining parts which "may" be usable would be handguards and stock.

Now, would it be worth it to spend $600 US on a real stock for a $450 Canadian MP5? No, somplete waste of money.

Could a real steel upper fit on a GBBR? Theoretically it seems possible.

Dunno... I see a lot of people spending $500 on flashlights, red dots, custom stocks, etc.

I'm spending around $100 just to get a real steel sling loop and pin on one of my steel guns.

Those are accessories, and can be used on any number of guns or even as stand-alone items.

For parts for MP5, you are limited in terms of real parts.

A real upper may fit a GBBR. There are different uppers in real ARs and different pin sizes and location for airsoft and real guns. I've modded real uppers for PTW in the past.

From the OP:

PTWs take on pretty much every real steel part since they are designed so similarly. A GBBR on the other hand seems a bit of trouble. Esp. KJWs or VFC. I would probably expect WA to be the closest fit.
