trigger glitch

there seem to be a problem w/ my mp5j..most of the time, firing in single shot is locked..flicking to full auto then switch back to semi temporarily permits me firing singles..firing in full auto is no pain..but i want to ask what could be causing this trigger glitch..

Locking in semi that's fixed by switching to auto usually happens when you release the trigger too soon after pulling it. Releasing the trigger too soon breaks the electrical connection before the motor has enough juice to fully cycle the gears and piston. Try holding down the trigger in semi to see if this is your problem. A weak battery, bad wiring, or strong spring can make the problem worse. Make sure your battery is strong enough for your spring and check for any kinks in the wiring.

And the other possibility is that the selector plate was badly adjusted when put back together.

Hi !

Almost all the times when that happen, It's the trigger spring that is missing or badly installed !

Correct that and you will be all set !

locking during semi-fire is caused by improper motor height. Adjust without the spring and piston. You could also remove the whole cylinder assembly so you could see the gears turn while adjusting motor height. By the way, use like 8.4V (or lower if you have) battery when you do this since your motor is not subjected to a load (spring uninstalled). You'll know the optimum height, you'll hear it.

trigger glitch

I belive hes referring to unlocks and if you still have the problem or ever do, try deleting your clientregistry.blob from the steam directory. It seems to fix most problems.

semi locking

It looks like everyone's solution to this problem is the correct solution. Which ultimately means you should do a complete gearbox service. Shimming, aoe mod, trigger plate inspection or replacement, trigger contact points and re-grease of the mechanical contact points. Try a small amount (a skinning) of dielectric grease on the electrical contact points. It might help reduce carbon spots from arcing and also guarantee a better electrical contact. Also, as was said make fully committed trigger pulls this will reduce short cycling the gearbox.

The best gearbox you can build is built with the desire for excellence in its mechanical function.
