retailers selling cheaper guns?
Im interested in airsoft guns.... I've seen the retailer links above and all I see are the high end metal ones that are like hundreds of dollars....
On the U.S ebay site i see some retailers selling AEGs for like $20.... of course they arent as high quality as the other ones but.... Where could i buy cheaper guns? |

Read more, you will learn. Read the FAQ section of the website it will tell you.
Those are cheap guns and do not work in airsoft. THey are just cheap pieces of crap. You want to play airsoft, save your money. |

You will want to have at least $600-1100 ready to spend if you want to get into airsoft and get all the stuff you'll need.
Airsoft isn't for those that can't afford it. (Or stick with it for the matter.) Bout the only crap that may suit your needs is CYMA brand AEG's. They are, as previously stated, CRAP. May I ask your age & how much you are willing to spend to get into the sport? You say you want to shoot cans, Then go to Canadian tire and purchase a Crossman BB gun. Will perform a LOT better then an airsoft gun for that purpose. |

What Ebay's auctions define as Airsoft, is actually for the most part, just really shitty Softair (Low end fucking crap to be honest.)
Now ya know. If ya don't already know, Dont buy airsoft from the US, Customs will seize it. If your looking for a half decent deal, You can look in the classifieds. You will need to contact a Local Rep > http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=12407 (Contact which ever one is closest to you) In order to be verified that you are 18+ then you can access those area's. |

Dont play in your backyard with an airsoft gun, period.
For the rest, read a lot or go meet folks to talk to them in person. You can contact people through the Teams section, or by attending listed games as an observer. And yes, it's expensive. Think about it like it's driving a car; you dont take a tricycle on the highway. The guns you want are so awful that you can probably throw a BB harder, and further, with more accuracy, simply with your hand. This game requires good equipment. If you want to plink in your backyard, it's the wrong game/tools. And I think it's also pretty unwise to have anything that even looks like a gun in a city backyard (unless you really want to attract the cops). |

ok ok, I realise you guys dont like talking about this subject.... one last question... why is it that those cheap guns arent very common in Canada?
Theres obviously alot of people that want to screw around with those crappy guns? No "because airsoft is way better" answers... hehe |

It's not that we don't like talking about this subject. It's that people always ask about cheap guns. Realize one thing, if nothing else: Airsoft is not for the faint-of-wallet. It will cost a lot to start, and it will cost a lot to upkeep.
Cheap guns are not common in Canada? By cheap guns do you mean the $20 ones on Ebay? It's because guns of all cheapnesses and expensivenesses get seized at the border making their way up here from the States. This is an Airsoft forum - not a Softair forum. Hence the prevalence and preference for Airsoft guns. People who "want to screw around with those crappy guns" tend to get arrested, or worse, shot. If there's a second thing you learn about airsoft, it's that you don't "screw around" with them. Same goes for Softair. And replica guns. Well hell, I guess I could just blanket this with "don't screw around with guns of any kind, period."

Besides, a REAL bb/pellet gun will be MUCH better for target shooting. A softair gun will be completely inaccurate.

Actually there used to be alot of those guns sold by canadians on e-bay but e-bay doesn't allow them to anymore.
As stated before noone here cares for them because this is an airsoft forum and they're not realy airsoft. Airsoft is about realistic mil sim typed gaming to most here. Like others have said there are better (and cheaper) alternatives to target shooting/plinking. |

I had a springer rifle/handgun combo, a la Cyma. Purchased off Ebay, about a month before they were declared prohibited by Ebay.
Actually, it's probably what's getting me into airsoft. Lots of fun times in the apartment. HOWEVER, I'm going airsoft, cause paintball, sure, you can get half decent guns nowdays for under a couple hundred bucks, BUT, that dam ammo, it's SO EXPENSIVE.

Probably one of the biggest reasons you don't see retailer selling that cheap crap is because people just won't aren't happy with junk. I wouldn't sell something I felt was crap either, it's just too much hassle.
