I had the same problem and ended up replacing it with another firefly rubber, which fit fine. I can't verify whether or not the initial firefly rubber I put on became expanded from overlubrication (I did overlubricate it once or twice) because I don't remember if the pouty lip was present before those incidents.

I got a new soft Firefly and it's fine. I'm not sure why the first one swelled as it was never lubed.

Actually, the second Firefly has swelled again. I realized that shots are getting random so I checked the hop up, turns out it's deformed again. Just like the first Firefly I had, I never lubed it at all. Silicone oil in magazines only. Seems like over time the propane+silicone swell up the Firefly, at least twice for me.

Now back to stock rubber...

How much oil do you use in your mags, and how often?

I oil my mags MAYBE once every 10 uses, most likely a lot less. They still work fine.

3-4 drops in propane tank for about every 8 mags.

Well I have a Firefly soft rubber as well.

You must be doing something different...
Try lubing less?

You're also using Airsoft Innovations super light weight silicone oil?

What brand of propane are you using? I haven't had this problem with any of my builds using these hop up rubbers yet.

I'm not sure if it matters, but for reference I'm using 25wt silicone oil. Store didn't have 10wt which is what I would have bought.
Works fine for pistols and everything else.

I'm just wondering if the products he's using is causing a reaction in combination with the rubber.
