What parts are essential for the upgrade?
Also what parts do you recommend for long-term reliablity?
I've been playing around with the gun today and theres alot of metal on metal clashing. Judging by the behaviour of the gun, I can see that many things will be worn out.
Could someone send me the link to where and which parts will need replacement?
I've dig'ed through the thread, but I could not find a canadian retailer to order the parts from.. Or do you straight order them from taiwan?

Parts that wear out or fail:
- part #66 (knocker delay)
- mag fill valve
- selector
- charging handle
- knocker

**some are more common than others...the most common being part #66

RATech, The WarStore...other places in the US (i.e. Airsoft Global, Evike, etc...)

is that for the M4, SCAR, or both?

Everything but the charging handle (m4) and the selector (M4) would apply to the scar as well.

Part #66 of the scar and M4 are the same.

Yeah - looking at that too. Need to sell some stuff and buy a WETTI M4 AWSS so I can model the part and test prototypes.

The lightweight SCAR BCG looks great so far - I'd love to make an M4 one.

EMT payment type has been added for Canadian residents only. Just for you.

Just kidding - I was working on the payment module for a few days. But we're a little off-topic now.

Thanks. Personally, I don't mind a manufacturer discretely "announcing" new sources of parts...that's cool and very helpful for everyone.

But payment terms, orders and that kind of stuff can be easily diverted to PMs, sales threads and websites.

Back on topic of "I wish someone would consider making this"...I wish there were extra receivers/barrels/etc. I've converted my M4 to a CQB variant and it works great...but I'd love to end up with a longer rifle when summer hits. Without having to tear down the front end and rebuild it.

Yeah no problem - I saw saw it was drifting away.

To this point - can't you purchase M16-length outer barrels already? I'm sure WETTI-sponsored retailers sell them. Probably EVIKE, I guess - they sell many OEM parts from WE.

As for the upper receiver - they're not restricted, so places like EVIKE should ship them here - or am I missing something?

As for usefulness - maybe the barrel nut threaded to mil-spec/real-steel specs would be good. That way you canbuy a cheap Airsoft AEG RIS/front-set and use a steel barrel nut specific for the M4. But then again, you could always buy a real-steel barrel nut, they're not that expensive (and not restricted).

So it sounds like your problem is already solved. Again - unless I've missed something.

No...not missing anything. I just wish there were more local sources for those specific parts/pieces so every part didn't have to "run the gauntlet". There's next to nothing here in Canada. Least the parts are cheap.

A buddy of mine in HK said that he was handling the PDW the other day. Said the finish was poor, no trades and really front heavy. He's a bit picky with things, but still...didn't sound like a great build.

That's a shame - I was looking forward to the PDW. I was totally thinking it could be front heavy if the receiver really is aluminum like the rumors have said.

Back to parts though - I went looking around for part 66 (firing pin delay stop, or whatever) - and I can't find any steel ones anymore.

Anyone have a line on these lately?
