mines SB, and ditto on the bushings... I guess when it comes to JG it's quite random.

Hey Red, springs are really a prefrence I guess, it depends what FPS you want or if you are attempting to adhere to an FPS limit. I myself enjoy guarder springs, some people like systema or airsoft surgeon.
I currently have a guarder SP90 and in mine it gives a decent FPS around 345.

just sharing my JG HK416- all stock internals and battery but replaced the inner barrel with an EDGI 6.03 440mm barrel... i added a 6 inch suppressor to cover the protruding inner barrel...
fps is at 449...just enough to qualify for our gamesite here in the Philippines...

don't see how you can use the optics with the rear sight on, I need to buy a new red dot now that will work with the rear on mine.

i usually remove the rear sight and move the scope backwards...
an ACOG or an aimpoint with a hi mount will be good... the gun is worth every buck - after 7 game days or around 5k BBs, the fps is still at 440 to 450..

You may want to consider one of Huang's EOTech 552 clones. Works great on this gun, and you don't need to remove the rear sight. Drop down the front sight and you're good to go. If something happens to the 552 and it stops working, pop up the front right and you can use the iron sights right through the 552 without any problem.

I dont suppose if anyone knows if there is a reciever mod kit out there that allows an M4 variant to accept G3 Mags? I know theres the Sr 47 cave buster mod that lets the M4 take Ak 47 style mags, but Iev got this idea burnin in the back of my head to turn my 416 into a 417 long range ass kicking cannon.

I gotta say, my front RIS is razor sharp. I have Madbull Bamboo rubber rail covers on it and they are REAL nice.. I definitely suggest covers.....or metal hands.

My mechbox says SB on it as well.

red_noir: Nice AutoCad drawing for the shims too.

Mine is also razor sharp and Ive actually cut myself on it.

The shim drawing was from arnies airsoft, not sure who created it.

I've only been in airsoft for a month now. I also have a M4 S-System.

Will that shimming diagram work for my S-System as well?

Also. Is this just a guide? Something to get started with and you modify as needed?

Thanks

That diagram is for reference purposes only. Mechboxes, bushings and gears all have unaccounted variance in tolerances. To properly shim your mechbox requires trial and error on your part.

I heard the S-System and the HK416 boxes are a little different. Is this related to the gears or something else? Thanks
