Exclamation Surefire M952v Flickering Dimming issue solved

Ever have this issue? I did. I would always hit the light and it would flicker or go dim. Here is why

There is a screw that holds a spring down in the back cap where you attach the pressure switch.

On that screw there is a wire soldered to it. Chances are, it's a cold solder. This has been bugging me for a long time. So I decided to figure out how I can dissect this thing.

In the back cap you can see that there is a ring that is holding everything in. There are 2 square cutouts you can see. Take an Small Tweaker (flathead) screw driver and stick it in one of the tiny squares and unscrew counter clockwise.

Re-tin the screw and the wire. Solder back together and boom!! Bright as ever.

I will post some pictures laters.

Yeah the retainer is the same type that holds the lense in on scopes. You'll be able to see it.

Totally worked for me. Was excited like it was brand new.

Hate to burst your bubble but the 952v is a VERY old light at this point.

However, it is compatible at its butt end with the 6p series of of caps as well as the P2x Furies. Their is a huge aftermarket third party support for these lights as they are over built and can be bored for 18650 batteries, also lots of after market heads.
