M4 Shorty barrel, bayonet lug blocking silencer installation?
I have a Guarder convertible barrel that can be changed from a carbine's length to a shorty.
The shorty's barrel ends exactly at the front sight. If I were to use a M4 QD silencer onto the flashhider, will the bayonet lug be in the way? If I were to remove the flashhider and screw on a SOCOM silencer, will the bayonet lug be in the way as well? |

when I built this a few years ago, i needed to shave the bayonet lub to be flush with the front site. The silencer was custom made, but I was using the Guarder outer barrel as well

I'd suggest getting the guarder cqbr barrel attachment. It's a 0.5" barrel extension that just screws on and threaded on both sides. It gives the barrel the 10.5" "NSW CQBR" length and allows the barrel to just clear the bayonet lug for whatever attachments you require.
