I know what I am looking for just dont know the name
like the topic says i know what i am looking for but i don't know the name or what to call it
this is a picture of the back of my vest(i think its alice) each strip is 9 inches long what i am trying to find is a pouch that will strap to it at the center or all along and cover the whole 9 inches I want to put 2. 3 if I can fit them. I looked at the website for the company its from (blackhawk) and as far as my limited knowledge on this stuff could tell they could have been anything there. I pray to the gear gods that some one can at least give me a name to look for. The end objective of the pouches is to carry anything that will fit from blatters or watter to bags of bbs to lunch to mags to what ever. P.S. was i right on that its alice or is it modular? the vest back |

Thank you saint so I am looking for a molle pouch that's 9 inches long and like 2-4 vertical.
What kinda pouch would that be? I know its not a mag pouch. |

It looks like MOLLE from the picture, however there are older vests on the market that kinda look like MOLLE but are made to take Alice clips. MOLLE will fit on these as well in some cases.
There are MOLLE back packs, TAG makes one called the MOLLE Assault Pack, however the thing is, that it would be lop sided on your vest. Most MOLLE has a sewn seam direct down the middle of a vest, yours has a loop down the center. Pouches are usually 1,2,3,4,6 wide. Your vest has five wide, so a larger pouch would be set off to one side or the other. There are quite a few Utility pouches that might work well for you as well.

The list would be huge for all the pouches and brands out there that are avalible.
Look at some of the dealers sites and most should have a Utility pouch section which should also give you rough size of the pouches. You might also find some guys on the forum selling some that would work for you.

I think he's looking for a universal term for pouches of that size, like how there are "dump pouches" and "admin pouches" and such. But is there actually a consistent naming scheming for the particular size of pouch he's looking for? I'm guessing no.

as my reserch is continueing I am learning to "improvise" sizes.
I did a lot of reserch on the guns and religtive atachments, but nothing in the cloth stuff. Its proving fustrating more so then the guns. But I can take an m4 apart compleatly and put it back together(not tested) |

With a blackhawk vest, for the back at tleast, you'll need to use blackhawk hydration pouches if you want them centered. Any other pouches will fit just fine. Keep in mind that anything you put back there will be unreachable. Not sure I'd go that route. If you can't fit it on the front of the vest or on a subload, you don't need it and it can go in a pack. |

The back of the vest can hold 2 bladders(2L) (if you know what your doing) and when paired with the correct bladder and system they only need come out for cleaning or disposal(yes fill right on back) I could also fill it from bottled water I bring to the field(for long events) Gatorade on the left water on the right. As for the pouches on the back they are going to be speed clipped on. out on the field I can quite literally drop one off the back and leave it behind for the time. Mainly to resupply front or team mates. or stuff the empty pouch ion a pouch dump pouch. I did my research physically I could pop them off but not back on. i just need to find the right size pouches |

Have you used the speed clips? So far, I'm not impressed with them. The beauty of other systems was the ability to weave through the available slots..if your pouch was 5 slots long you could still put it on a panel that only had 3 available. Seems you can't do that (as readily) with speed clips. Point in case would be the Blackhawk Side Hydration carriers. They're made to go on the side of THEIR releasable armor system, but won't fit on a CIRAS because it needs 8 rows of PALS to lock into.
I get the impression that speed clips are a solution looking for a problem; BHI wants to stop paying licensing fees to Eagle for MOLLE attachments. |

they are only good for items that are going off and on your rig. Like say you have m4 and ak mag pouches and switch back and forth a lot they be good. But of your molle grenade pouch is always there they are useless.
Can speed clips can be used as smaller slot users as well(you buy them separately) I can get a hydration pack and use 3 sets of 3s to mount it on my vest or 1 pair of (no idea the number) you just need to have the clips. But I do agree they are solution looking for problem and quite possibly to end the payments to eagle. But I found the problem. They are fast to remove pouches as well(well for the 3s any ways) pop the top down push it to the pouches loop pull pouch out and up re hook clip. I have a set of 3s. They are ok but again I wont use them for more permanent stuff to my vest. |

Ive seen the speed clips...they look gay. I think BHI sucks balls. You guys should try malice clips from Tactical Tailor. They still allow the weaving between the PALS and are very secure. The only thing I didnt like was that there is this big black locking mechanism that sometimes sticks out from underneath smaller pouches. If you put another pouch over it, though, most people wont notice them at all.

One thing I don't get!
Why pick a system based on looks instead of functionality? So what if the clips show or not... Think about it, what system woudl you take to war? One that looks good or the one that will save your life? Quote:
