Socom Gear has sent in a few pictures and a writeup of the M82

Quote:
SOCOMGEAR full licensed Barrett M82 (M107) AEG prototype is ready.
First version: M82 (M107) AEG
1:1 scale
Using the same material as real M82 (external)

(Internal dimension is not the same in order to apply regulation)

M82 series roadmap

M82A1 -> M82A1A -> M82A1M -> M82A3 -> XM107 -> M107 -> M107A1 (latest version)
The one we are making is the latest M107 version with Barrett full license.

Yeah the fluting would suggest it is a short barrel.

And given that airsoft doesn't actually have that many caliber differences, and the XM109 upper is designed to fit on an M107 receiver, it seems like there's a good chance its an XM109.

Maybe they could make it in 8mm That would be novel.

I just got word directly from SocomGear... sent directly from his T Mobile blackberry lol. Suggested price is 750 USD or less, and hopefully an April launch!
