Issues
Bolt carrier wheel bearing axle *temp fix with clear nail polish on the tips, ads resistance and keeps it in place* Bolt catch *sanded down bolt catch well and added a dab of solder to the part that hits the mag tab so it engages extra hard. got this figured out, now trying to figure out my issue with the bolt catch....
WE must be ancient greek for *does not work out of the box* |

wasn't engaging when the mag was empty. Fixed it by adding a little material to the bottom of it so it engages harder and taking a MM off the well on the bolt carrier. Seemed like it wasn't coming back far enough or engaging hard enough. That works now though . now.... to figure out this hop up and why I keep shooting at helicopters.

I had this problem with the pin when I had my SCAR as well.
Dart, easy fix is take that pin out. Find yourself a small finishing nail that is close to the hole's diameter. You'll want it to have a flat head. Now you'll probably need to dremel down the nail a bit so it fits better and then cut off the excess. Insert the nail so the flat head is on the ejector port side. The flat head will prevent it from sliding out in either direction. Leave a couple millimeters stick out the other side, not too much. It's a quick, easy, effective fix until you can get a better hammer set down the road.

yah I found a way to keep it in... clear nail polish on either tip lol and sanded down the sides a bit so it spins nice and easily.
Now the issue I am having is gas consumption. I am running co2 and I can get about a mag and half off in single shot but I can't even get a full mag off if I do a few strings of full auto. This is at room temp. I dunno if an Npas would improve this as the knocker still releases the same amount of gas right? |

The way the system works is that it'll dump gas down the barrel direction as long as the BB is in the barrel. Heavier BB, longer barrel = more gas.
Then it starts the rearward cycle. Until the hammer is cocked to a certain point the knocker will stay forward (dumping gas...by now funneling gas into the cylinder/piston space...the float valve is closed now trapping it there). One place to check for sure is the seal between the mag and the brass tube. If the rubber seal is all nicked up then you'll be "leaking" gas with every shot. Same goes for the rubber o-ring seals on the floatvalve and valve body....they can get nicked and cut. Since you can't adjust the timing of the knocker unknocking (i.e. adjust the bump on the hammer that trips it, or adjust the leg of part#66, on M4, that trips the knocker...you can look elsewhere. The float valve spring is one place. The stiffer it is the slower the float valve will close forward starting the recoil phase. Imaging a spring so stiff that the float valve never closed, the first shot would shoot the BB out and dump the rest of the gas. You want something a bit less than that . Too weak and the valve my shut prematurely, but the BB should still go but may be a weaker shot. The strength of the recoil spring is another place. Too stiff and more gas is used to build up enough pressure to force the bolt back. Too light and there's not much stopping the bolt from hitting back as hard as it can and it'll be sluggish to return to battery. The weight of everything recoiling is another place. This is just a simple look at sitting/static mass. The heavier the bolt/rail is...the more force (=gas) is needed to get it moving. Lighten the rail/bolt and it'll move faster. It'll also have less impact force when it hits the end of it's travel. Bomber's super lightweight bolt is one way to accomplish that. Hope that sheds a bit of light on where all your gas might be going...best of luck Tys |
