"classic" gun owners

Just curious if anyone still has/uses/preffer the "classic" airsoft guns, (these are the first gen airsoft guns that use C02, HPA, green/red gas etc. -not including GBB pistols.

For those of you who have these could you post your opinion on why you like these better than the now more common AEG's.

a Pros and Cons list would be cool too. Thanks for your input guys(gals).

.PS if you have pics please post them here...

I've own both Kokusai and JAC if not for Marui i would still be using them.
some of the "rare" gas/shell operated rifle in my collection is are
- smokey's M82 - i don't use this anymore because they stop making the shells for it (I know this is not gas but a springer type system but hey it's discontinued)
- Asahi M60 (not operational, need parts)
- JAC M16A1

Pro- you can get insane power, no little plastic thing to break, holy shit realism especially with the shell ejecting action, actually make you move your fat ass around and think about positioning due to the lack of hicap availability and ammo conservation

cons- Parts are a bitch to find and very expensive toys (if you think PTW are pricy wait till you have to buy parts for an Asahi)

+1 on both counts

I have owned many classics and still own a maruzen kg9.

Pro's
ROF can be insane without worrying about the gun eating itself.
FPS can be adjusted with very inexpensive parts and input pressure.
If you can get someone to make one an lrb makes a gun that fires field legal velocities that can out shoot almost any aeg.
Sound is very loud and different from an aeg.

Con's
Expensive.
Hard to get.
Parts usually need to be custom made to upgrade them.
Lack of a hopup device in the majority of them. The popular models had scs barrels or lrb's released by several companies though.

Neutral
Some people dislike the hose. Personally I don't even notice it. If routed correctly it would seem just like a sling.
If you dont live near a place where they can fill CO2 or HPA it can be a bitch.

Every time I buy an aeg I sell it off because my classics are more fun to use. I am currently in the process of getting a custom recoil and hopup assembly made for my kg9. To put the rarity of things in order to get extra mags for my gun I had to buy 3 extra guns and get them parted out and leave the receivers in there respective countries.

Yeah!!! Totaly! The classics sound great!
The hose/ airline is quite annoying for me (in my mind this is the worst part about the classics) also when playing out in the woods and you run out of air you're pretty much SOL, and the fact that CO2 is affected by the temperature.

You should post some pictures of your classics.

I dont have a camera atm. HPA is not effected by cool down. Batteries also die. I have seen people route the hose up there sleeve so there is only like 2 inches being shown. I have also seen people who build the hose into a one point sling.

CO2 isn't all that affected by temperature in some of the classic guns. I'd run an FTC SD3 in the middle of winter before and had no issues with it working perfectly fine while AEGs were cracking their mechboxes. Just wish that I had hopup. My range was less than spectacular.

This is an airsoft forum.

And yes, the WAM4 has been discussed here already. I personally would love it with the Inokatsu M16VN metal kit for it.

Shell ejection would make this gun unfieldable.
