Doom (The books)

Based on the books rather then the game.

Book Airsoft
9mm-----------1911
SIG-COW----- AUG (semi only)
Shotgun-------any (alot of different types were used)
AB-10---------P90
M14 ----------M14
Sniper Rilfe -----Bolt action (doesn't go into detail about it in the book)
Rocket ----- -M203 or M79 type Shooting foam
Plasma------- FAMAS with hicap
BFG---------- M203 or M79 type shooting bbs

Omited: Double barrel duck gun, reason, there is only a few types of airsoft double barrel guns and they all suck.

The game. Dark enviroment. Low lighting. FFA or can be done in pairs. Be more like a death match.

Start on the perimeter of building. Pairs should be split up like Fly and Arlene were.

People start armed with 1911's and a few mags, No tac vest or lbv.

Weapons placement: Each weapon shall be pre loaded with one mag. Extra mags should be placed about, but not too close.
Cannot switch ammo from one mag to another except the 9mm and SIG-COW and the shot guns.
The better the weapon the further towards the center it should be.
Can carry as many guns as you want at any time.
Some guns should be hidden. Like the bfg and the rocket launcher
Stash tac vest and chest rigs the same way as you did the aegs.

So you now have the game zone setup like a FPS map.

Could try adding the zombie mini game in here as well.

feed back?

I suggested a Doom survival type game at screamer's but I doubt they'd let us use their house.

Neat idea, I like your thinking.

Also, instead of medics maybe "medpacks" I don't know I didn't read the book.

Curiously enough, if you take the sine of 666°, you get 0.80901699, which is one half of negative phi, or perhaps what one might call the "anti-phi" / It is opposite of balance and harmony ergo: chaos and disharmony.

Umm, I'm not dumping on your idea mate, I like it, but I don't understand what this has to do with the books. You mean those ones that came out like a decade ago when Doom 2 was big?

If so, I friggin' LOVED those books...I only had the first two though...how did it end?

Ha, I remember reading a page from a kids Doom book when I was just a young lad. It had the word "fuck" in it. I thought that kid was king shit.

I'd imagine he's still as fat, pimply and nerdy as ever.

Monsters: Flying creatures will be ommited because no one can fly.

Zombie: Armed with any normal weapon. IE: standard issued. "Head" shots to take down type 1 and 2. Define "head" at the start of the game.

Type one: blind/ can't see well. Use dark visors. Can't run.
Type two: Can see just fine. Still can't run.
Type three: Human clone. Not a zombie persay. Acts like a normal person. The most dangerous, can run and do what ever he/she wants.

Imp/Spiney: Dress in brown. More animal then man. Get red balls to throw instead of guns. Give them a good spray with any weapon. Ignore glancing shots.

Demon/ Pinky: Dress in pink or red. Melee creature. All animal. Close range shotgun blast to kill. Immune to small arms fire unless really really sprayed. Picture an elephant. Can a 9mm take done an elephant?

Hell Prince: Give this guy a kick ass weapon. Can't only be hurt using the rocket launcher or BFG. Can only walk. 2 rockets or 1 bfg to take down. Immune to everything else.

Steam Demon: Give this guy a rocket launcher/ M203 combo of sometype. Other wise same as Hell prince, but can take more "damage". 3 rockets . 2 bfg

Manoglas: I forget the real name they used. Hugh fat guy with duel MP5K should fill this role very nice. Can't run or see very well. 1 rocket or a few mags from an automatic.

The damage that each creature can take was a little tricky. This would be left up to the honor system and the role each person plays. I left alot of monster out just because it is tricky to emulate some of their weapons with airsoft weapons. ie: Arch Vile or a Skeleton.

Aren't some monsters Nigh-Invulnerable and require a ludicris amount of fire to kill? like full auto rockets? Ow.

I played this game on a gamepad and it's a classic from my childhood. I remembered a book story that I associate with Doom. This is the book "Number the Stars" https://freebooksummary.com/category/number-the-stars which tells a good story about a girl, but this contrast of childhood stories helped me remember the image. Childhood is a paradox that we remember and laugh.
