Ofcourse I do

But being able to change your velocity from 270 fps to 380 fps would make your gun more versatile without posing any actual threat to people.

If someone cranked er up to 380 in a cqb game they arent going to seriously hurt anybody except themselves when nobody allows them to come to games anymore. Sure, some people may get some good welts.

...and paintball has seamed to deal with it fairly well with many guns having a variable velocity.

380 FPS is a norm for CQB now.

Mach1 and Siege FPS limits are 380 FPS.

I think using a compressed air cylinder instead of a spring would give you wider pressure variations, as outside temperature changes, wouldn't it?? I.e. giving you wide fps variation?

I wouldn't want to have to adjust it before every game. Then again, at least you *could* quickly and easily adjust it before every game...

An air spring that size is problematic. Especially when subject to a rapid cycle like an AEG.

You'd be buying a new one every few months.

Would there be any interest in a solenoid based aeg? Main features would be v2 gearbox form factor, no motor/gear whine and kick comparable to a gbbr. Price point would be about $50-$80 higher than a regular gearbox(assuming similar production volume). I would guess ~$200(and this is with no real calculations) each initial price due to low volume.
