Hmmm, how about some old school real-steel:
Martini-Henry Mk2 (there were still some knocking around in Afghanistan)
HK53 (I suppose you could mod a G3)
G41

fictional:
M82 (in terms of the ejection port mentioned in an older post, there are ports on both sides - I suppose it's meant to have a reversible ejector like the FA-MAS or AUG), StA52 - (from Killzone 2/3)
M5A2, L23 Fareye - (from Resistance)

Gas S&W Model 29 that has an adjustable or swappable valve, runs on reloadable shells, and is made really well stem to stern.
Or any revolver really. Like, goddamn.

We made a 10ft long mortar once, just as a concept build to see just how far we could lob out BB filled styrofoam shell rounds.
We were launching beyond 600ft into a golf course on the other side of a river.
That's the first and last time we ever shot it.

Ares does plan on releasing the short railed version.
Personally though I like my long railed one.
