STAR M249 misfeeding
I've had this gun hanging around with me for quite a while now. After fixing the box mag, and tinkering with the mechbox, I thought the feeding issues would be over - I was wrong.
I've tested the gun with an 8.4 and a 9.6 type battery, only to retain identical results. The mechbox is in good working order as well. Without any previous knowledge of the 249, I can't say anything about its hopup and such. Basically, when you pull the trigger to shoot only one bb, three come busting out. Those 3 bbs don't even have enough stength behind them to break paper. If you hold down the trigger, little white balls come puffing out of the barrel in pretty much every feasible direction, except back at me. In that they are also extremely slow, and weak. I'm looking for any information you might have, as I would like to get this gun back to its owner as soon as possible.

Loading nozzle may have an airleak take apart the gearbox and manually push the piston while holding the tip of the loading nozzle. And check if any air is leaking out of the nozzle. If not that it's probably the hop-up.

Likely the hop up since double feeding occurs from the barrel and hop up moving forward slightly, so it's a good chance something is up in that area. Basically a single BB pops into the breech and rests against the hop up rubber until fired. If there is room for more than one BB to get in there at a time, then they will.

What is Star a copy of CA, or something else, or it's own flavor?

I think, it may be its very own special flavor, I may be wrong.

What nozzle are you using ? is it stock nozzle or other brand ? This problem seem to be the nozzle. It used to be like that on mine as well. I actually swap my nozzle to Modify AK nozzle, problem solved on mine but to be honest, I'm not sure if it would work on you.

I'll leave the owner a message requesting the information. As far as I know, everything is stock in this gun. Last I recall, he said the gun was working fine (there are photos of him gaming it) and then one day - it didn't work fine, so he left it with me to fix.

Remove the heat shield and unlock the barrel. Check if you can see the nub on top of the hop-up hole into the barrel.
Re-lock the barrel in place correclty. That means you have to push quite hard on it until it really click properly (if you don't feel it click, it's not in). |
