***RESOLVED****Looking for help. now with 2 issues!!! FML

Attached are pictures of the issue, there is too much play in the end cap and it jiggles around and doesnt sit flush like it should. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Barrel is steel so I would prefer not to drill....

G&P front sight...have used a TM one and same thing happened...

G&P delta ring

RAS is supposed to be a drop in replacement for handguards.

There should be a screw holding it against the front sight. Is that there?

What styrak said, or your drop in ras handguards are not the same length as your old ones. based on your pictures, you are going to have to move your front site back

It depends on how his site is mounted brand etc. it's either by the 2 notches on his barrel or via friction fit like some other gasblock style triangle sites. My VLTOR style gasblock / flip up is friction fited to the barrel not attached to the gas block notches in the barrel.

If it is a 2 piece barrel AND their is play between the pieces then you can tighten it up. You will see a grub screw in teh centre of your barrel, loosen it and see if you can make your barrel fit the handguards.

Are you able to puch you gas tube further into you upper receiver? Mosy have a hole all the way through. either that or tripm the gas tube a bit.

I cannot move the front sight. It used the two pins to secure it. The barrel is an L119A1 outer purchased from Huang.

I do not have a screw for the end cap.

I'm thinking i could only shim the delta ring really.

Get some small metal shims and put them on the gas tube in between the plate and the front sight.

Can you take a pic of the inside of the upper receiver? I'm sure the hole for the gas tube goes all the way through like on my KA upper.

First is it a RIS or a RAS? Can't really tell from the pics you posted.

Does it somehow bolt or screw directly onto the receiver (Freefloat RAS) or does it fit into the delta ring and front cap like the plastic handguard (RIS) ?

If it's a RAS you don't need the front cap unless you want it there for shits and giggles: ditch it.

If it's a RIS I'm not sure how the front cap is loose or the rail not falling off. Pics.

No, that's only TM (and probably clones like Junk Gong). Most won't have this, they'll sit like RS.

It is a KAC RAS replica. Direct drop in replacement for handguards.

Gas tube doesn't matter in this scenario, yes it does keep on going, It's an L119A1 body from Huang.

CRAP! Now I have a slightly bigger issue. I have ICS thermold mags and they don't go far enough into the magwell for it to catch....are ICS mags proprietary?

Shim it, use plastic as thick as credit cards, make atleast 3 circles, paint it black, put em on before the sight, and you're good, no more rattle.
As for the ICS mags I have no idea if they're proprietary but there's a lot you can do if you're skilled with the dremel and have the right attachments. If you do go down the dremel path, take your time, practice on something else before you work on the part.

I can't say for the mags but the RAS issue looks more like an issue with the delta ring placement. If it's shimmed out far enough from the receiver, it will be fine, just make sure you shim it between the RAS and barrel and not between the barrel & the receiver. Is the RAS the same length as your original handguard?
