Your solution to extended stock because of battery?

Sooooo, I know that using a full M16 style stock helps loads with a rear-wired gearbox, but for M4's and extendable stock, how do you fix up your battery? I have a stock with buffer tube, but the wires are extremely long which means that whenever my battery is connected, I need to fully (or almost) my stock, and that is very uncomfortable for close quarters (not to mention my rifle has a very short barrel, it's meant for CQC).

I've heard of people using a little box outside of the stock, but haven't found anything about that. Can anyone relate to this problem?

I personally like the comfort and easy of crane stocks and the 9.6 crane stock batteries. All my CQB guns have this stock and I have not had any problems with them. I will add that once you get the battery in, you will never have to take the battery out to charge it.

Once the battery is in, all you do is pop off the butt stock cover, pull out the wires and charge the battery in the buttstock.

I will add that the only problem people have are:

1. not easy to install the first time
2. cannot collapes the stock fully (normally 2nd to last notch inward)
3. batteries are not cheap
4. have to cut the tube attached to the lower of the body (leave about 1 inch of tube)

That's what I mean. It's a pain in the ass to have to take off the butt stock cover... (I need some kind of sharp object, can't do it with my hands only). Front-wired gearboxes where you have the battery at the front are much easier because you just open up the handguards and voila.

Lipo if your stock is small.

Or rewire to the front.

Or get a GBBR.

You can even fit one of DonP's mosfets in the buffer tube.

How about something like this:
Dark Earth:

Black:
http://www.airsoftpost.com/magpul-ba...k-p-31364.html

You could replace the standard battery with a quality lipo battery and get what you are looking for in power and longevity.

For my JG HK416 and Dboys M4 SD I use the Hot-Power 7.4V 3000 mah nun-chuck lipos; you can get them from ehobbyasia. Due to the MOSFET in the way I can only close the 416 stock to the 2nd last notch, but if the MOSFET isn't in the way I can pretty much close it all the way down. 3000mah lipos can pretty much last you the whole day too. Dboys Crane Stock (as well as JG 417 Choate Stock) can happily take Nun-chuck lipos without massive modification.

otherwise nunchuck NiMHs from Pointact.com, just need to de-solder the black wire and change it to a longer wire.

G&P makes some of the best Crane stock solutions on the market.

Modstock replicas look nice, but are a bit of a pain to deal with the battery.
