Since April 2011, I've owned an Ares G36c. So it's been about 7 months. I estimate I've shot about 12,000 rounds through it. So far the only thing that has broken was the tappet plate spring. I replaced it with a version 3 spring.

So far it's been pretty good to me. I can't say anything about it's quality compared to other brands, since the only other gun I had was a cheap Aftermath M4.

I agree that parts are hard to find from retailers, but I've been able to get the following parts directly from Ares Customer Service:
G36 ball bearing spring guide (SG-01)
Nut that screws into ball bearing spring guide (part F48)
G36 flash hider (FH-G36-01)
G36 to M16 Magazine Adapter (G36-11)
G36 140 rounds magazine box set 5pcs/box (G36-140P)

Sorry, yeah it is cs@aresairsoft.com. It's not on their web page under contact info. I got it from their Facebook Page.

If you're going to order internal parts go here http://www.aresairsoft.com/tech.html and click on the "expose plan" for your gun to get all the part numbers.

For external parts you can reference their catalogue, http://www.aresairsoft.com/cat.html

Hope this helps.

I have sent request for a few parts. I will update on how that goes so anyone here can see Ares in action...or not! Fingers crossed!

I spoke to Jugglez from Airsoftparts.ca and he's also doing his part to get Ares to provide parts for their customers. Hopefully the combine effort of the community will be enough to light a fire under Ares's ass, so they would do something.

If he had that brand of parts I'd have even less money. You can't just pickup one thing from his shop.

Just so everyone know, I have spoke with the distributor in Canada and they have contacted ASC to obtain a retailer status, so they can help you guys do special order directly.

But from what I heard, they haven't get any reply yet, I will try to update here once I find out more

It seems that STAR became SRC and Ares went their own way.

For the questions above, ARES and STAR went apart like a year or so ago!

The problematic guns or the not so good quality guns were probably STAR eras

Cuz most of the ppl that held one of the "newer" ARES in hand are impressed of what they see, as what i'v heard

If Ares quality is so bad what would motivate Magpul to have them build the Magpul PTS ACR AEG?

Isn't Magpul risking its reputation with potential shoddy Ares worksmanship?

Or am I reading this wrong and Ares is building a quality AEG for Magpul?

I'm reasonably sure Ares makes the Magpul PTS ACR. It even has the 'quick change spring' feature as patented by Ares.

Correct me if I am wrong!
