G&G MP5A5 after the magic of Krylon.

Hey guys, just got my MP5 Combo today from Capital Airsoft. I shot the gun to make sure it fires nice, it was great. So, I decided to take it apart and paint away that clear receiver.

Also received my Supressor from Capital at the same time, so I put it on my G32c and took photos of the 2 guns. Great service from Jeff by the way, A+!!

5 Pics, 4 after, and the last one is BEFORE.

Just regular Krylon "Fusion" ultra flat black, it's actually the camo series.

Did you open the mechbox? How do you find the internals as compared to other stock guns of the same variety? Nice flat paint job; finish looks awesome.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Here's a little review of the gun, the review is for the full metal version, but the internals are the same on the two guns.

as you shouldn't, nor should anybody. If you just take the time, let it completely dry before another coat, spray from a fair distance away and don't worry about making a super thick coat each time, it will turn out good. I do 10+ really thin coats.

I'm not quite that fussy. I did 5 coats on this, about 8 minutes between coats. Let the final coat stand for 15 minutes and then reassembled.

Well it turned out amazing! I ought to be less anal about it then.. I let at least 2 hours between each coat :P. Often times I wait overnight. And then wait at least 24 hours before reassembling, or adding a clear coat.

Holy crap man, I'm sure that works well, but Krylon dries to touch in 5 minutes or less at room temperature. Try and stay away from moist area's like the porch on a rainy day when you are drying. As long as you let it stand long enough on your final coat it'll turn out good. Lots of people make the mistake of reassembling before it's totally dry, and end up with finger prints.

But yeah, 15-20 minutes between coats is MORE than enough for sure. Usually only takes me 1.5 hours to disassemble, paint and reassemble a gun.

Cheers

the lower receiver is a separate piece from the upper. The upper is what was painted.

Refer to the 5th picture I added for visual of the gun before it was painted
