I bet there called Colt M1911's and Beretta M9's.
Anyone else want to guess?

I'm pretty sure the Deltas were toting 1911s. As for the Rangers, they were issued M9s so that was probably what they were using, if they were using pistols at all.

M9's are for sure...I remember the two Delta snipers having them at the second crash site.

IIRC:
Delta - Mix of old school 1911s, some modded, some not, with a healthy mix of M9s from the rangers and air crews.

I remember it being a very specific point that the Deltas would not use a 9mm, due to its supposed lack of stopping power.

Most of the pistols seen are in the hands of Delta, and they're all basic 1911A1 Government models. There's one very short shot were McKnight's driver is shooting his sidearm (Beretta M9).
Everyone's making funny faces when they're shooting their pistol.

That specific point is probably ongoing seeing as how USSOCOM opted for a .45ACP pistol (Mk23) and USMC FR is using Quantico-[re]built 1911s.

The debate rages on. Proponents of the 9milli are saying that it's all about shot placement, anecdotal evidence = teh bunk. 9mm is easier for new guys to train on, larger mag caps, etc.
.45 cal guys say 9mm is for pussies. Most of the stuff going down range in the the sandbox and the stan are 9mm right now if I understand correctly, purely due to availability. |

Kinda off topic... but I always wondered why Shugart & Gordon didn't just fire up that Minigun in the chopper and waste everyone? It looked serviceable.

I think it was electrically-driven, and drawn off the helicopter's power supply or the engines, both of which were likely rendered unserviceable in the crash.
That or the actual crash and position of the helicopter made it impossible for them to utilize it - i.e. entirely on its side, crumpled against a wall, etc. Colt 1911A1s to Deltas, M9s to Rangers.
