Glock w/polished slide

Here is my Glock 18c. I sanded and polished the metal slide. I've still got to airbrush a coat of gloss or matte clear coat for protection.

Watch that Serpa holster, apparently a lot of the guys in the Box are having major deadly dangerous issues with them.

Hey Duff, what kind of issues with the Serpa. I've been using it for a while now and have had no problems with it at all.

there have been reports of the gun discharging when attempting a draw with the holster. I dont know if this has to do with the human error, or the design of the holster. Personally I have a serpa hoslter my self with a glock and it has never gone off when attempting a draw.

Real-steel issues with the SERPA holster seem to stem from people pressing the release paddle with the tip of their finger like it's an elevator button. As the pistol clears the holster the crooked finger slips into the trigger guard, thus setting you up for an AD.

You are supposed to press the release paddle with the flat part of your finger. The finger remains straight as the paddle is pushed. As the pistol clears the holster the finger will rest naturally outside the trigger guard.

Other real-world issues are grit getting into the paddle mechanism and preventing the actuating of the paddle but I think BHI has addressed this to some extent.

So far, as I've been using and practicing with the Serpa, EVERY time I've drawn the Glock, my index finger has ended up in exactly the right spot along the frame right next to the slide. I would have thought that regular holsters would have more of a problem with ADs than the Sherpa. With regular holsters your index finger goes anywhere as you pull the gun from the holster. With the Locking Sherpa you have to have your index finger in the right spot to release the gun. Which, of course, the manufacturer put in exactly the right spot to prevent ADs. Strange that there should even be any talk about ADs when it comes to Sherpas. I guess you just can't be sure what will happen when humans are involved. There is bound to be someone that'll fuck up even the simplest thing. Oh well.
