[Help] Repairing TM Knights SR-16
The body of the gun is chewed up, and I'm not sure what Body to get to fix it, as I bought it used from someone who didn't tell me much about the gun. I believe I paid 250, but everything worked at one point, until the cold weather got to it sitting in the storage unit in my old neighborhood. I've got 13 days until I turn 18 and I'm just absolutely stoked to get this thing working so I can start Airsofting!
So I've been looking online and from why I can tell from this site: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/tokyo-mar...rsoft-aeg.html the only bodies that are supported are Systema, KM, Laylax, and Guarder. I'm looking for a body that's not too expensive, but I want one that won't crack like this again: The battery runs through the back of the gun to an M16 stock: Here's the hop up, which I don't know if it will work with these one peice hop ups they're selling with the body kits, I figure a plastic one isn't good, but like I said, I'm worried it won't be compatible. So I've come to a few websites, but Red Wolf is one that you guys are offering to other members for suggested products, they ship to Canada and my metal body for a replica won't get cancelled/rejected, because I'm a civilian (though I'm going into law-enforcement in a few years, but I don't want to wait that long...). Will this work? http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...M16_series.htm |

I'm also grabbing some magazines, but I dislike the whole wind-shoot-wind-shoot, so I'm going for a standard cap mag, they run like 30-68 rounds, but my vest (after I'm finished) will hold 9 standards, and my hi-cap that I got with the gun. Unless I should go with mid-caps... any suggestions?

Bodies won't actually make it across the border if opened by customs. Once you turn 18 and get age verified then you can get metal bodies in the country, though they're more expensive.
TM armalite models use 2 piece hop up units, so if you got anything else besides a TM you'd need to get a one piece hop up unit also, but everything else should fit.

You'll be able to get one used in the classifieds or new from an importer/retailer, but both of those options aren't available until you're age verified.
In the mean time, your gun will still work with those broken tabs, just ghetto-tastically wrap some tape or something around the gun to keep the upper and lower together. As for magazines, it's all personal preference. In my opinion, 30 round magazines in airsoft are kind of pointless, as you need more rounds to punch through brush while playing outside. 68 rounders are my favourite, but I also use 85 rounders and 100 rounders.

Thanks. When I bought the gun it had steel wire wrapped on the rear tab but the front pin falls out. So it was taped. Still need a charger though because I lost my other one. I'll grab that and some BBs along with some more Condor doubles for my vest when I go to get verified with Jeroon at Army Issue near my place.
What would be better, steel or die cast aluminum, and how would I know it would be compatible with my gun? Also what price range are we talking because I it's too much, shouldn't I just buy a new gun?? |

I live in the Mississauga area (part of the GTA (Greate. Toronto Area)) in Ontario, and I've looked at most of the retailers around my area in the retailers section on the forums and found no-one that sells metal bodies or astic either (even though thats pretty much out of the question). Does anyone know where I can get a new Metal body to fit the gun?

You can get a metal body from the classified. Just get AV'ed and the gates will open.

There are used ones and brand new ones. You might have to wait awhile if you're looking for a specific one or get one of the retailers to get it for you. Lots of options once AV'ed.

You can "legally" import the upper receiver of the M4 in no problem, just not the lower. But then again it's up to the CBSA agent who's checking your package to determine if it will go through or not.

Any CBSA agents wanna let mine slide? Guess I'll just wait, but why not the lower receiver?

apparently the lower receiver is the "replica" part of an airsoft gun
