Gas gearbox?

Hi everyone,
Just came across this link over at Classic Airsoft.
http://www.jdsdelta.com/madbullairsoft/products-470.htm
Has anyone tried one or has/had one of those in their AEG?

Thanks!
Cheers,
Alex

The Madbull unit hasn't made production yet, only just now are they starting to come out. Furthermore it's semi-automatic only to avoid issues with cooldown. Interesting idea though, I'm curious to toy with one myself.

I play paintball and it sucks in cold weather.

Could something like this be converted to take air instead?
I'm sure compressed air would work much better in cold weather...

If so, then there's no reason they should have semi only... full auto GBB!
Anyway, then they need a way to attach external tanks... and a way to adjust velocity.

You can use HPA or larger CO2 tanks with remote

The only thing is, once you start adding external tanks then you take away from the realism. Which is why I am into airsoft, but I think it's a great idea though. Especially if it gives the weapon a realistic "kick". Maybe something along the RAP line of paintball markers could be used?

Meh. If we get blowback from that, I'd happily toss a tank with a hose to my gun in a pack. Just run it along my sling.

Really, that takes hardly any, if any, realism away in my mind.

Comp Air would be cool with me. Like a return to the Classics, without having to buy a new gun.

(new 'old' gun I mean)

Unfortunately the thing only lasts about one lowcap on a 12g CO2 cart. It's a good idea but the drawbacks are just too large. Of course, give me full auto and a much heavier recoil, and I'd buy one and an external tank faster than you can say "orgasm."

How many locaps are you going to need w/470 fps on semi-auto! :O

Definitely worth the trade off IMO. 65+ rounds @ 470 fps? With recoil? And all you've gotta do is drop that 12g and toss another in + change mags

Reliability too!

Not reliable in the cold.

Those cartridges are about 75 cents each too.

Changing the cartridge is alot more hassle than just a mag...
