MArushin k98 (yes i bloody know its not a practical skirmish weapon), but I'd "die" for realism. And for a noob like me its good.

I will proly try to get a luger.
But it is pretty hard to find on canadian websites. I looked on many, but havent found any, altough I might only need to drop them a email so they can import it who knows. But right now side is only low priority. Ive gotta get the uniform step-by-step.

Please take my advice, do NOT get the Marushin, I have heard only bad things about it, go for the Tanaka. Yes I know its not as realistic, but you will be thanking me in the longrun...when your gun actually works.

In my opinion...STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM A MARUSHIN as you can...seriously. I own one, and I hate the thing with a passion. It is a bundle of trouble and if you are not a veteran Airsofter, blessed with mechanical ability, then you are SOL. I can make it work, and I have killed quite a number of guys with it, but it is not worth the trouble.
Drop the extra money into a Tanaka Kar98 and you will NEVER be disapointed. I would prefer the all metal and wood gun over Marushin's light wood, plastic, and cheap metal any day of the week. You mentioned realism...for 750 bucks I cannot see how you would get a realistic looking set of gear, so this tells me that you are not as commited to realism as you suggest. If that is the case...then why would you want the Marushin? If you want to talk to me on MSN, I'm on constantly and can help you out with any area of German WW2 gear. Take care man, good luck.

Buy the MP40. I'v owned both the Marushine KAR98 and currently own the Top MP40. and I must say that the Mp40 is 10 times better. I let someone use my Kar98 on the feild for one game and just watched him struggle with it the hole time, because the shells dont eject worth shit, and when the shells do eject, you need to pay more attention to where there landing rather than watching where your shooting at. The gun is a excellent collectors peice, but I really dont even classify it as a airsoft gun anymore just because it was designed to not be used on the feild. The MP40 is extremly high quality and built very good, but it shoots less than a stock aeg, and there's no high cap mags available yet. With airsoft you can only get so realistic even though it ejects shells, you need to think if thats practical. Go with the tanka Kar98 or the Mp40. Trust me it will be worth it.
