STALKER Shadow Of Chernobyl Game Idea
Hey everyone.
I posted this idea before a while ago sort of but not in full detail. My Stalker game is a sort of Capture and Hold idea, best played at night with a large number of players 45+. 4 teams divided evenly and a smallish group of freelance players(between 5 and 10) who are against everyone and no one. Each team will have to hold their own base, while trying to capture as many of the other bases as possible. (5 bases, 1 at each corner of the map as home bases and one preferably segmented base in the center) At each base a time keeper will be planted up a tree in a hunters perch. Every 5 minutes that team gains a point for holding the base. Since it is a night game. Each team will be equipped with glowsticks of that teams colour, once a base is captured the team will run a glowstick up the flagpole to show that they have captured the base and to start the timer. The 4 teams are as follows. Freedom: Yellow Duty: Red Merc: Blue Military: Green The freelance players(Stalkers, White glow sticks), Can work together and capture bases like the other teams if they want and gain points that way. However their goal in the game is to gather artifacts (Prizes with white glowsticks taped to them. Candy works good, boxes of Condoms for a bit of comedy) Each artifact counts as 5 points making it possible for a good Stalker to win the game, however they have to work fast since the other 4 teams can pick up artifacts and just leave the glowstick, making the artifact worth only 1 point. Respawn is up to the GM that day, I like Dogtag games or just regular 5 minute respawn. Hope this inspires someone to edit and make my idea better V Edit: Here are some handy links should you want more background info or are planning on hosting a game like this. Simplicity works best. Force on Force are the most fun, with some objectives thrown in.
I personally wouldn't care to win a point and hope it has some candy attached Have fun if you try it though, it's what you make of it.

Haha, I get where your comming from and I tend to agree. The extra bit with the stalkers tossed in is really just for thoes of us who love being a 1 man army and sneaking around. There arent alot of stealth over firepower roles in games with specific objectives. Thought it would be nice to toss it in, also it goes quite well with the theme of the game.

You know, if you took your time and organized it with enough groups of people, the base idea is very good. Who doesn't love post apocalyptic wars?
Simplify it though. 2 teams with the stalkers thrown in. |

GOing to limit the weapons to those found in the game?

That would be quite possible. except the game is based in the near future and as part of the story you would find a few "super stalkers" who had alot of money and could afford to bring in fancy guns and what not. Also the game features a wide array of weapons so thats a user preference thing.
Personaly I just hate restricting someone from the game just because they own a certain type of gun.

I was thinking about Stalker game for a while now, I think it will be really complicated to recreate true atmosphere of PC game but it's doable if players and organizers will take it seriously. Game like that should run for at least 12 hours and should be hosted on a large field with different layouts. I think Wassaga field is most suitable location.
There was Stalker themed RPG game with elements of airsoft in Ukraine last summer. I think it ran for 48 hours and had more than 500 players involved.

There was one crazy guy on Russian board who wanted to organize a game in Pripyat but that didn't work out well for him
If I remember correctly hosts rented large military training facility with buildings, roads, factories etc. Place looked pretty damn cool.
