Tightbore Barrels: 6.03 vs 6.01

So i made this thread to show the Pros and Cons of the two biggest size of tightbores and whats the best use for them. I couldn't find a tread like this for some reason and if there is im sorry, but it must of been deep in there. My hopes of making this thread is to gather knowledge from as much people as possible. To really know the differences and help people who are new to upgrading or just unclear of what to pick. Maybe adding other sizes wouldn't be a bad idea also.

Simple answer... 6.01 cause more issues and don't work any better than 6.03. 6.03 is the best bet.

6.01 for long barrels risk jams. I use 6.01 only on my pistols.

My rifles all 6.03

The accuracy between a well built 6.03 and 6.01 is exactly the same. The fps will be a little bit higher on the 6.01, but the 6.01 is more prone to fouling.
With my VSR-10s 6.03 I'd notice accuracy loss after just 120 rounds or so.
But I have noticed really good results with my widebore barrel

Alright so with widebore you will get more accuracy. Why is that?

As far as I understand it, it isn't the tightness of the barrel that increases accuracy, rather it is the tolerances on the inner barrel's diameter, ie a barrel that is (6.01 ± 0.08)mm is going to be way less accurate than a barrel that is (6.05 ± 0.01)mm. A tighter barrel doesn't buy you more accuracy per se, rather the tighter air seal increases FPS slightly while also increasing the risk of jamming. Whatever barrel you get, get one that is not too tight, with the tightest tolerances possible. If tolerances aren't listed, then that probably means it's no good.

didn't say more accuracy, said good results
But over the course of a few hundred rounds, the widebore definitely outperforms the tightbore

I can only speak to my experience. I recently installed a modify flathop and a 6.01 tight bore that replaced my 6.03 and guarder hop rubber. I had significantly improved accuracy but can not tell which (the flat hop, or the barrel) was responsible.

Also just to provide some empirical evidence in favor of the 6.01.

Keep in mind you can find links that make the exact opposite argument as well...

What's way more important than the advertised bore is the quality and consistency.

This is not in English, but you can see the numbers. Actual measured bore is not the same as what manufacturers advertise.

+1 Prometheus has always been a leader in airsoft upgrades...

They were really the only choice before until many other Chinese sellers started to jump into the market.

This is back when everyone owned a Marui AEG...

Haven't found too many reviews but I'll be giving the Angry Gun 6.03 barrel a go in a 590mm P* build.

Took the gamble since the AG suppressor barrels have been pretty good for a barrel extension.
